Yesterday was the first day that I had switched it to the back ports. cord plugged in and was working yesterday like a charm. I don't know which is was the culprit in my case, but switching to 3.1 USB ports closer and directly connected to the motherboard seemed to resolve my problem. The person that had responded had made a statement about weak power supply to a USB port. I switched to using a USB 3.1 port on the back. When I looked at the USB 3.1 ports on the back of my computer, they are much closer to the mother board and directly connected to my motherboard. The motherboard in my desktop is towards the back. The USB ports on the front are build into a card then wired to the motherboard. I had switched them around in the front port before to no avail. I had my cords all plugged into a USB 3.1 port on the front of my computer. I read through some of the responses in this thread and saw one that talked about the length of the cord. It disconnect before I could really get a chance to do much of anything. It works pretty well but it keeps disconnecting but it was not enough to stop me from playing. cord that Oculus suggested for the Oculus Link. I would not suggest anyone buy an Oculus product EVER. People have posted about this all over the internet and still, they never solve the problem. I've gone from beta, back to not beta, back to beta, developer versions, blah blah blah.I don't think they even want to fix this. Oculus can't seem to figure out the problem. Posted all over the Oculus forum and no luck. I've bought a powered USB block and it still doesn't work. (it takes about 30 minutes to re-start my flight sim after this). Usually whatever game I am using will then CTD. Quits working, I have to un-plug and re-plug in my USB, then right after that, the display adapter goes out and I have to do the same with that. I own a Quest 2 and a Rift S and I have had disconnect problems the same with both of them for two years now. This seems to be a recurring issue for people using most all Oculus products. The quest is a horrible pain to get it to work and even then in my experience its questionable if it will. And compared to a rift its awful for pc vr the latency is an issue tracking is actually really decent and colors look better but my rift was leauges better because it worked i could pick it up and 9/10 times it worked. I might hang on to it but i never use the wireless stuff. I had a rift and the cord broke so i bought this because theyre not making rifts like they are quests so i decided i was sick of waiting and got a quest and i regret it terribly i want to just sell it on ebay but i know one day there will be good games on the quest its just theres not really any yet i mean beat saber is fine but i like milsim and shooter type games and theres like none right now. Also it says i need an update on oculus pc software but wont let me in the headset.
